Ingredients:

  • 1 pound fresh salmon fillets, skinless and boneless
  • 1/4 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 burger buns
  • 1 cup lettuce leaves
  • 1 cucumber, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon wasabi paste
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • Sesame seeds for garnish
  • Vegetable oil for cooking

Instructions:

Cut the salmon fillets into small pieces and place them in a food processor

Add panko breadcrumbs, green onions, garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, grated ginger, and black pepper to the food processor with the salmon

Pulse the mixture until it becomes a coarse paste, being careful not to overprocess

Form the salmon mixture into 4 patties and place them on a plate

Heat a skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat and brush with vegetable oil

Cook the salmon patties for about 3-4 minutes per side, or until they are cooked through and have a nice golden crust

While the salmon burgers are cooking, prepare the wasabi mayonnaise by mixing mayonnaise, wasabi paste, and honey in a small bowl

Toast the burger buns in the skillet until they are lightly browned

To assemble the burgers, spread a generous amount of wasabi mayonnaise on the bottom half of each bun

Place a salmon patty on top of the mayo-covered bun

Add lettuce leaves and cucumber slices on top of the salmon patty

Place the top half of the bun on the stack, and secure the burger with a toothpick

Sprinkle sesame seeds on top for garnish

Serve the Asian Salmon Burgers with Wasabi Mayonnaise immediately, and enjoy!
