Gluten-Free Soft Pretzel Bites with Cheese Sauce

These soft pretzel bites don't contain gluten and are a great snack or party food for people who are sensitive to gluten. With a creamy cheese sauce for dipping, they make an irresistible treat. They are soft on the inside and golden and slightly crisp on the outside.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups gluten-free all-purpose flour blend
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/4 cup baking soda
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons gluten-free all-purpose flour blend
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

Warm the oven up to 425F 220C and put parchment paper on a baking sheet

Mix the gluten-free flour, baking powder, and salt together in a large bowl using a whisk

Mix the dry ingredients with the almond milk and olive oil until a dough forms

Make little balls out of the dough

Mix baking soda with 2 cups of hot water in a different bowl

For each dough ball, dip it into the baking soda mix and then place it on the baking sheet that has been prepared

Spread the egg wash over the tops of the dough balls

After the oven is hot, bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until golden brown

Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium-low heat while the pretzel bites are baking

This will make the cheese sauce

Add the gluten-free flour and stir it in

Cook for one to two minutes

Slowly whisk in the milk until the mixture is smooth and thick

Add the crumbled cheddar cheese and mix it in until it melts and is smooth

Add pepper and salt to taste

Warm the pretzel bites up and serve them with cheese sauce to dip them in
